Mary Kerkes

Mary Kerkes, 85, of Weirton died Tuesday June 4, 2002, at her residence. She was born on January 18, 1917, in Braddock, PA, the daughter of the late George and Mary Gullas. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph B. Kerkes on November 3, 1999; her three sisters, Ann Gullas, Elizabeth Wilking, and Sue Simpson. Mary was a beautician. She served her country in the W.A.C. during World War II. She was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Weirton. She is survived by her three daughters; Mrs. William (Christine “Tina”) Mitchell of Weirton, WV, Mrs. Donald (Suzanne) Chelf of Spring Hill, FL, Marilyn Kittrell of Hendersonville, NC; a brother, Joseph Gullas of Weirton, WV; five grandchildren, Lori (Mike) Antonetti, Tom Mitchell, Brett (Lauren) Chelf, Beth Chelf, Natalie(Jonathon) Stroup; a great grandaughter, Erin Chelf. Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 PM Friday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday. Pastor Gary Brubaker will preside. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Garden, Weirton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church , 3432 West Street, Weirton, WV 26062.
