Mary L. Yanacha

Mary L. Yanacha, 82, of Weirton, died Friday, January 24, 2003 at the Weirton Medical Center. She was born on August 10, 1920 in Wellsburg, WV, a daughter of the late William Gracey and Mina (Perrine) Gracey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph W. Yanacha on November 25, 1989, two brothers and one sister. Mary was a school teacher at the former Wellsburg High School where she taught Home Economics. She was a member of the Cove Presbyterian Church, where she was also a Sunday School teacher for the Myrtle McHenry Class. Mary was also a member of the Weirton Women’s Club, the Steubenville Chapter of the D.A.R., Junior and Senior AREME Clubs, and the Weirton Chapter #147 Order of the Eastern Star. Mary is survived by her daughter, Jo Ellen Wershbale and her husband Steven, two granddaughters Gillian and Haley Wershbale, all of Allison Park, PA and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 26 from 1:00 – 3:00PM and 6:00 – 8:00PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Weirton Chapter #147 O.E.S. services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday. Additional visitation will be held from 10:00AM until the 11:00AM funeral service on Monday, January 27 at the Cove Presbyterian Church in Weirton. Reverend Bruce Ballantine will officiate.
