Mary M. Herlovich

Mary M. Herlovich, 95, of Weirton, passed away Friday, June 6, 2008 at the Weirton Medical Center. Born September 7, 1912 in Gary, WV, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Cecilia Herlovich. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Cecilia Bellhardt, Stella Dudley and Antonia Herlovich and brother Vince Herlovich.
For 27 years, Ms. Herlovich served as housekeeper for Monsignor Sylvester Staud. Mary enjoyed playing BINGO, traveling and going shopping, but most of all Mary enjoyed doing for others, especially cooking and baking, where she was famous for her lemon and cherry pies and her haluski.
She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers.
Mary is survived by her friends Ron, Judy and Cheryl Penrod of Follansbee, WV and nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Sunday 1-3 at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10AM Monday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.

I remember Mary well from my days at St. Paul’s in Weirton during the early 1990’s. She would come from Freedom Place to daily Mass and was one of the women who would fold the bulletins on Fridays. I always had fun talking and laughing with her. May God reward her for her faithful service and deep abiding faith!
May God reward you, Mary, for your loving service to His church! I can only imagine what it must be like being in the arms of the One who has loved you the most! Rest in peace, Mary, and enjoy your reward!
