Matthew Thomas Moore

Matthew Thomas Moore, 24, of Weirton, died Saturday April 28, at Wheeling Hospital following injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
He was born on August 17, 1976 in Steubenville, OH, the son of Anthony and Karen Pearson Laurine of Weirton, and Phil Moore of Weirton. Matthew was preceded in death by maternal great grandparents, Theodore and Crystal Heaton Pearson, paternal grandparents Roy (Bill) and Mildred Cantwell Moore, and step grandfather, Phil Laurine.
Matthew graduated from Brooke High School in the Class of 1994. He was employed as a construction laborer with James White Construction in Weirton. He was am member of the First United Methodist Church in Weirton and the Union Local #809.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his maternal grandparents, Thomas (Mickey) and Rose Barnhart Pearson of Bruceton Mills, WV formerly of Follansbee, WV. Step Grandmother Mrs. Doreen Laurine of Weirton, WV.
Matthew is survived by a sister Danielle N. Helms, and her husband Barry of Tiltonsville, Ohio.
Visitation will be Monday 7-9 PM at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV, where services will be held Tuesday at 11AM with the Rev. David Fisher, officiating.
Interment will be in Saint Johns Cemetery, Follansbee, WV

I was a friend and classmate to Matt and I wish I could have been there in person to give you my sympathy but I myself am recovering from the loss of a loved one and not ready to attend another funeral. He was a great person and will be sadly missed, I am so very sorry!
