Michael B. Hartman, 85, of Weirton died Sunday December 1, 2013, at his home. Born on April 19, 1928, Michael was a son of the late Anthony and Marie Auer Hartman. He was also preceded in death by his three brothers, Caspar, Anthony and Gabriel Hartman, and his two sisters, Helen Dalton and Marie Paulin. Michael served in the United States Army during the Korean War. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, he retired after 30 years of service in Weirton Steel, where he was an engineer in the B.O.P. He will always be remembered as a family man who enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed reading and watching sports, especially baseball. Michael was member of Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 3734, and VFW 2716, He is survived by his wife, Ruth Varner Ciccarelli Hartman; sons, Michael (Elizabeth) Hartman of Boardman, OH, and Harry Ciccarelli of Weirton, WV; daughters, Karen Marie (Keith) Huntzinger of Weirton, WV and Debra (Ronald) Little of New Cumberland, WV; his sister, Sister Michael Marie Hartman of Baltimore, MD; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Tuesday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 noon on Wednesday at Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weirton followed by a committal service with military honors at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited 6 PM on Tuesday In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Table of Hope 3301 West Street Weirton, WV 26062 or Saint Paul's Roman Catholic Church 140 Walnut Street Weirton, WV 26062 Mr Hartman's family would like to thank Atul Shetty MD for all the care he gave to Michael.
