Michael (Eggs) Rumora

Michael J. "Mitch" (Eggs) Rumora, 89, of Weirton, WV died Friday, February 3, 2017 at his home.
Born November 17, 1927, in Weirton, he was a son of the late Nick and Matilda Ticich Rumora. He was also preceded in death by his 2 brothers, Andy and Nick Rumora, and his sister Anita Karavanic.
Mitch started his career working for Weirton Steel at the age of 16. After graduating high school he served in the United States Army 1946 -1947. He spent the majority of his career in law enforcement as a Traffic Sergeant with the City of Weirton Police Department and eventually retiring as Chief Deputy under Sherriff Webster.
He dedicated close to 30 years of his life coaching area youth in basketball and baseball, and was instrumental in the formation of the Weirton Baseball Association.
He was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Church, and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 84.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Genevieve Waszak Rumora; a son, Craig (Cindy) Rumora of Katy, TX; a daughter Lynn Agans of Denver, CO; his grandchildren, Christian, Rebekkah and Jordan Rumora and Brenna (Rob) Monsen; and 6 great grandchildren.
In keeping with Mitch's wishes, there will be no visitation. His cremated remains will be placed at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

To the Family of Mr. Rumora. I remember him so well . He was a good friend of my Dad(Jim Klash). They worked at the Ball fields together . My dad always had wonderful things to say about him. Sorry for your lost.
Gen and family, so sorry for your loss. We live in Wilmington, NC now, but think of you often and of our years working together at Weirton General Hospital. I am sure you will miss him dearly, but hopefully all the good memories will get you thru the sad times. May God Bless you and your family.

Gen, Craig and Lynn, We are so very sad to here of Mitch’s passing. With our backyards connected we were more than just neighbors, we were family. Memories of him will live forever in our minds and hearts. May God give you peace at this very difficult time.
Dear Mrs. Rumora, Craig and Lynn, Please accept my deepest sympathies are the passing of your husband and father. I have known him since I was child and he and my dad were food friends. He always spoke to me anytime he would see me. He and my dad put so much time and effort into making the ball fields a great place the children to play. H will be truly missed.
