mike lesho
Michael Lesho, 89, of 3324 Elm St. and Grandview Terrace, Weirton, WV joined his parents, his brothers, Joe, Yank, George, and Andy along with his sisters Ann Rinegal, Mary Jones, and Sue Klimansky with their heavenly Father. Uncle Mike, as he was known and loved by his many Godchildren, nieces, and nephews, was a very devoted and active member of St Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Weirton. He attended Mass each week at his beloved church, and his artistic talent could be seen at Christmas and Easter in the church's floral decorations. After moving to Grandview, he continued to attend Mass each week with his nephew. Uncle Mike was proud of his Slovak heritage and traditions. He was past Grand Knight of Council #3734 of the Knights of Columbus. Returning to Weirton after serving as an U.S. Army Medic, he worked for 51 years until retirement from Weirton Steel Company's Strip Steel Office. He was fortunate to have a supportive cadre of friends, including but not limited to, Father Jerome Botsko, George Garan, Herb Ross, George Lacik, June Cupini, and Joe Romanyak. On Wednesday, December 30, 2009, we will honor and celebrate the life of this wonderful man at a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Byzantine Church. Visitation will be from 9:30 until Mass at 10 o'clock. Entombment will be at Mount St. Macrina, Uniontown, PA at 2 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to his beloved St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, 3116 Elm Street Weirton, WV 26062.
