Mitchell M. Baltich, 86, of Weirton, passed away on Tuesday April, 28, 2015 at Acuity Specialty Hospital in Weirton . He was born Nov. 3, 1928 in Weirton, the son of the late Charles and Anna (Roksandich) Baltich. He was preceded in death by his five brothers Bronko, George, Pete, Daniel and John Baltich. Mitch most recently worked at Guida Enterprises. Previous to that he worked as a supervisor at Weirton Steel Plant Security, was a Weirton police officer for 20 years, and retired as a Hancock County Magistrate. He was a member of Holy Resurrection Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, the Serbian Men's Club and the Fraternal Order of Police. Mitch is survived by his beloved wife Shirlee (Gryskevich) Baltich whom he married on Sept. 11, 1955, his loving daughter Jan Baltich, of Weirton, brother Charles Baltich of CA., sisters Nancy Baltich of Weirton and JoAnn Thompson of FL., and God-daughter Sarah Wright of Weirton. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M., at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV., where Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday. V. Rev. Father Rade Merick will officiate. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend a special and most grateful thank you to the nurses and aides on level 7 of the Weirton Medical Center for their compassion, kindness, and tender and loving care given to Mitch. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Resurrection Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, 528 North 4th Street, Steubenville, OH 43952.

  2. Im going to miss you Uncle Mitch. I will always remember him saying to me” Annie” get your gun, even if I had just seen him a few minutes before. It’s so funny because I never liked anyone to call me “Annie” but when Uncle Mitch called me “Annie” get your gun, I never ever minded, ever..It’s hard to write this because I miss all my other Uncle’s, and now I don’t have anymore Uncle’s left…..Love to you Aunt Shirley and Janice…my deepest thoughts and prayers to both of you..
