nancy brogan

On May 28, 2023, the world was diminished with the loss of Nancy Jean Brogan. Nancy passed while holding the hand of her husband F. William Brogan, Jr., and soon after visits from her loving daughters, Laura, and Rebecca. Nancy was highly intelligent, elegant, and friendly, and was gifted with many qualities, foremost among them being the kindest and gentlest of souls. Her loss is devastating, and we pray that she rests peacefully in God’s embrace.

An Ohio native, Nancy graduated from the University of Pittsburgh. She married Bill Brogan in 1989, moved to Weirton, and worked as a secretary in his private law practice, and then continued working with him at the Public Defender office. She enjoyed travel, fine dining, placing modest wagers at casinos, and listening to Elvis and Blake Shelton.

Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Frank, and Helen Bell, and by her sister Barbara (John). Along with her husband, she is survived by daughters Laura (Nigel) and Rebecca, four grandchildren, and her cat Lucy.

Nancy’s family thanks Valley Hospice for their kind care, and Weirton Medical Center’s Home Health Care staff, especially Melissa, for their tremendous efforts on Nancy’s behalf.

Final services will be private and at the convenience of Nancy’s family.
