Former Weirton resident Nelda S. Scott, 77, of Utica, IL died Friday, October 08, 2004 at the Pleasantview Lutheran Nursing Home in Ottawa, Illinois. Nelda was born February 17, 1927 in Salem WV, daughter of the late James and Mamie Mayle Pratt. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Eugene “Scotty” Scott on October 18, 1999 whom she married February 5, 1944 and Brother Carl Edison Pratt. Nelda was a cashier of Loblaws Grocery Store where she had over twenty years of service, she also worked for Frank’s Restaurant, and she was a member of the First Christian Church in Weirton, the Weirton Chapter 147 Order of the Eastern Star and was a former member of the Weirton Moose Lodge 688 Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her son Clarence Scott and his wife Donna of Utica, IL; daughters Donna Shook of San Diego, CA and Sharon Blower and her husband Jeffery of New Manchester, WV; brothers James Pratt and his wife Mary of Wolf Summit, WV and Ray Pratt and his wife Marian of Clarksville, TN; sister Marlene Davidson and her husband Walter of Salem, WV; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received 6 – 8PM Monday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton where funeral services will be held at 11AM Tuesday with Reverend Kevin Bowers presiding. Weirton Chapter 147 O.E.S. services will be held 7:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Salvation Army, 793 Cove Road, Weirton, WV 26062 or the First Christian Church, 3252 Main Street, Weirton, WV 26062.   8. Junior, Sharon, and Donna—I was so sorry to hear about your Mom. I have many fond memories of your Mom and Dad at Monongahela Power Co. functions. Also, Junior, do you remember the summer that you, Carolyn Hersman, Bobby Leach and I rode our bikes and hung out together for the whole summer? That was about 49 years ago !!! What a fun time that was for all of us. Please know that you have my deepest sympathy and you will all be in my thoughts and prayers.
