Nellie N. McMillan

Nellie N. McMillan, 85, of Weirton, died Friday, April 16, 2004 at Serra Manor in Weirton. Born June 30, 1918 in Atlasburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Nicola and Sara Ralich. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant daughter Nancy Carol McMillan; brothers Lee and Milan Ralich and sisters Mildred Solomon, Dorothy Senker and Josephine Ralich. Nellie was a member of the Holy Resurrection Eastern Orthodox Church. For over 30 years, she was employed as a School Crossing Guard for the City of Weirton. She was a member of the Women of the Moose (WOTM) and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Nellie’s active past also includes the Weirton United Way for over 30 years, past secretary of DeMolay Mothers in Steubenville, PTA President, VFW President, Hancock County PTA Vice President & Secretary and Secretary for Mayor’s Advisory Committee. Nellie’s survivors include her husband William “Bill” McMillan of Weirton; son William George McMillan and his wife Laura of North Hills, CA; daughter Deborah Carol Fisher and her husband Mike of Meadville, PA; sisters Eva Ralston of Weirton, Ann Rinkel of Luverne, MN and Mary Sedwick of Wintersville, OH; grandchildren Natalie, Jonathan, Brittany and Grace McMillan and Bethany, Andrew and Katelin Fisher. Friends will be received Sunday 7-9PM and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton where funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday with Father Rade Merick presiding. Pomen services will be held 7 PM Monday and a VFW Ladies Auxiliary service will be held 8 PM Monday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton.
