Nicholas John "Nick" Yoklic, 86, of Weirton, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2012 in the Acuity Specialty Hospital, Steubenville, OH. Born March 4, 1925 in Steubenville, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Mary Evanosich Yoklic. With 30 years of service, Mr. Yoklic retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as a construction rigger and bricklayer. His craft is displayed in many buildings and homes in the Weirton area. He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, co-founder and member of the Oakland District Volunteer Fire Department, Tri-State Marine Corp. Club, American Legion Post 10 and V.F.W. 2716. He served with the United States Marines during World War II. Nick is survived by his wife Virginia Daisy Begola Yoklic whom he married October 16, 1948; sons Nicholas R. Yoklic and his wife Debbie, Philip Yoklic and his wife Diandra all of Weirton and David Yoklic and his wife Miranda of Lynchburg, VA; daughter Carol Yoklic of Lawrenceville, GA; brother Albert Yoklic of Weirton; sisters Jean Benson of Bethel Park, PA, Wilma Icanafo of Cleveland, OH and Helen Beaumont of Weirton; grandchildren Emily, Matthew, Zachary, Stephen, Jeffery, Christian, and Kodi; great-grandchildren Julianna, Catherine and Aiden. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1-3 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10am Monday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church with Reverend Father Larry Dorsch officiating. Entombment will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton where Military Services will be conducted by the American Legion Firing Squad. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 140 Walnut Street, Weirton, WV 26062.
