Nicholas Prodanovich
March 31, 1935 ~ December 30, 2006
Nicholas Prodanovich, 71, of Weirton, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Trinity West Medical Center, Steubenville, OH. He was born March 31, 1935 in Weirton, WV, the son of the late Yefto Prodanovich and Mildred Krnich Prodanovich Cekinovich. His wife Mildred Hoffman Staley Prodanovich also preceded him in death.
Nick retired from National Steel Corp. where he worked for forty years as a welder in the Welding Shop. He served his country in the US Air Force, was a member of the American Legion Post 10, the Veterans of Foreign Wars #2716, the 25 year club of WSX, the Weirton Moose #688, AARP #3848 and The Three Score Senior Citizens.
Nick is survived by his son William Prodanovich of New Manchester, WV; stepsons, Bill Staley and wife Midge, Jim Staley, Rick Staley; step daughter Nancy and husband Jim McAllister; brothers Michael Cekinovich of Machesney Park, ILL and Samuel Cekinovich and wife Josie of Weirton, WV; and sister Mary Tyson, Weirton, WV. He has several grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 2, 2007 from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St, Weirton, WV, where services will be Wednesday at 1:00PM in the funeral home. Interment will be at St Paul Cemetery, Weirton, where Military services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 10 and the Weirton Honor Guard.
