Nick Karastamatis, 73, of Weirton, died Tuesday, May 27, 2003 in the Weirton Medical Center. He was born March 1, 1930 in Weirton, a son of the late Athanasios and Vasilia Kanellou Karastamatis. After 38 years of service, Nick retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as a transportation brakeman. He was a member of the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church and the WSX 25-Year Club. Nick also served in the US Marines during the Korean War. He is survived by his brother, Christo Karastamatis of Weirton; sisters Chrissoula Torlidas and her husband William of Pittsburgh, Mary Karavolos and Anna Carney both of Cleveland, OH. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the All Saints Greek Orthodox Cemetery, Weirton. Memorial donations may be made to the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 3528 West Street, Weirton, WV 26062. Arrangements are being handled by the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton.
