Nila Jo Bray
November 5, 1947 ~ August 17, 2022
Nila Jo Bray of Weirton passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, after two-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was 74.
Nila was born in Steubenville, Ohio on November 5, 1947; the only child born to Gerald and Gladys Hess Wilson.
Nila spent her entire life in the Ohio Valley. She graduated from Follansbee High School in 1965, and went to work for Weirton Steel Corporation, where she retired after 25 years of service. She worked in the Accounts Payable Department located in the General Offices.
Nila was a member of the Moose Lodge 688; the Weirton Steel 25 Year Club.
In her free time, she and Gene loved to vacation in Myrtle Beach and Nila loved to shop.
Most of all Nila will be remembered for her caring and personable personality who always enjoyed being around her friends.
In addition to her mother and father, Nila Jo was preceded in death by her stepfather, Ralph Taylor.
She will be remembered with love and sadly missed by Eugene Smarrella, and the countless friends she made along the way.
In honoring Nila’s wishes she will be cremated.

Eugene, I’m heartbroken to hear of Nila’s passing. She was a wonderful lady & friend who came into my life with you while we watched Ralphie & John torment us at Trinity East. I’ll cherish her friendship forever. May she Rest In Peace & watch over all of us until we meet again.

So sorry Eugene to hear of Nila ‘s passing. Kenny has fond memories of them as children and when she and her mother lived with his family. He always thought if her as his older sister. Its awful how everyone drifts apart as we get older. We always enjoyed running into the two of you at the casino— Kenny and Dee Denbow
