noreen barnhart

Noreen Sue Barnhart, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, of New Cumberland was accepted into the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 24, 2023. She was eighty-four years old.
She was born on July 23, 1938, in Parkersburg, WV., one of three daughters born to Okey and Jesse Glover Stewart.

Noreen graduated from Weir High School in 1956 and was a faithful member of the Weirton Church of the Nazarene. She was a true woman of faith, volunteering for every office the church had to offer; next to her family, her church was extremely important to her.

Her husband Pearl whom she married on September 14, 1956, said, She’s the most honest person I’ve ever met, she’s an amazing woman and the love of my life, I wouldn’t change it for the world.” It was no secret to anyone how much she adored Pearl and the life they shared together. That life of sixty-seven years was a life to emulate, an exhibition to learn from and model after. They worked hard, loved their family, and made sure God was at the center of their lives.

Noreen enjoyed wintering in Sebring, FL., shopping at various antique shops, finding a great deal at neighbors’ yard sales, and dining out at various restaurants (especially Elby’s), but the one aspect of her life she found without question was her greatest joy was the ability to have her entire family visit her and Pearl at their home to share a meal.

In addition to her parents, Noreen was preceded in death by her sister, Uldine Powell.

Left to cherish her memory with much love and a lifetime of admiration is her husband, Pearl Barnhart, Jr., of New Cumberland; Children Debbie (Chuck) Kuhn of New Cumberland, Jim (Teresa) Barnhart of Weirton, Judy (Dan) Garver of New Philadelphia, OH., and Ron (Anne) of Chester, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and sister Colleen (Richard) Reid of Marietta.

Friends may visit with her family at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from 4 – 7 pm.

Additional visitation will be held at the Weirton Church of the Nazarene, 475 Colliers Way, Weirton from 10 am until the time of the 11 am funeral service.

Burial will follow immediately at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Weirton.

Pastors Bennett Briles and Larry Barkley will officiate.
