Olive Slowikowski

Olive Slowikowski, 88, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014 in the Weirton Geriatric Center. Born January 11, 1926 in Steubenville, OH, she was a daughter of the late James and Olive Ely Bickerstaff. She was also preceded in death by her husbands Frank Burns and Zigmund Slowikowski and sisters Shirley Eddy and Lottie Yeager and Zigmund's son Thomas Slowikowski.
Mrs. Slowikowski was a homemaker, attended the Weirton Alliance Church and was a member of the Mingo Senior Citizens. While a resident of the Weirton Geriatric Center, Olive enjoyed playing bingo and all the activities offered to the residents.
Olive is survived by her son Robert (Sandra) Burns; daughters Vicki (Fred) Angelo and Margaret (Fred) Freshwater; Zigmund's children Rosemary (Stanley) Zanieski, Robert (Susan) Slowikowski, and Tom's wife, Lynda Slowikowski all of Weirton five grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and 9 step-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday 4-8PM and Saturday from 9 until the 11AM funeral service at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Reverend Peter Leonovich will officiate. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton.
