Orva Lynn Littleton, 72, of Weirton died Wednesday, November 8th, 2006, at the Acuity Specialty Hospital in Steubenville, OH. He was born on December 29, 1933, in Parkersburg, WV, the son of the late Robert M. and Lucille Nutter Littleton. Lynn was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Alan and Ralph, and a sister, Pauline Smith. Lynn retired from Weirton Steel on July 31, 1990, after 39 years of service as a welder in the Steel Works Welding Shop. He was a member of Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus 3734 Fourth Degree Assembly, Weirton Steel 25 Year Club, American Legion Post 10, Tri State Marine Corps Club, and a lifetime member of the VFW 2716, and the Weirton Termite Baseball Association, where he spent 21 consecutive years as a coach. Lynn was one of the first welding instructors at the J.D. Rockefeller Career Center. He served as Second Ward Councilman of the City of Weirton from 1983 to 1991. He was a Korean War Marine Corps Veteran, and was awarded the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and National Defense Service Medal. Lynn is survived by his wife, Ida M. (Colantonio) Littleton, whom he married on December 30th, 1954; sons, Raymond, John and wife Michelle, and Joseph and wife Patti; all of Weirton; seven grandchildren, Rayanna, John, Joseph, Jenna, Ashley, Thomas, and Rachael; two brothers, Gilbert and wife Joan of Weirton, and Bill and wife Margaret of South Carolina; two sisters, Mary “Dell” Murray of Steubenville, and Juanita “Snookie” Rea of Toronto, OH. Friends will be received Saturday Novemer 18, 2006, from 11 a.m. until the 12 noon Memorial Mass at Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weirton. Rev. Fr. Larry Dorsch will preside Military Honors will be conducted by the Weirton Honor Guard. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton.
