Ottavio Martire

Ottavio Martire 71 of Weirton, WV passed away July 24, 2006 at his residence. He was born June 2, 1935 in Longobardi Province of Cosenza, Italy, the son of the late Giuseppe and Anna Amendola Martire. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Ottavio retired from Starvaggi Industries where he worked as a laborer with 24 years of service. He was a member of St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Weirton.
He is survived by his wife Teresa Garritano Martire of Weirton; son Tonino Martire of Milano, Italy; daughters Lore Martire of Weirton, Ada Palmeri and her husband Michael of Weirton, Patty Soplinski and her husband Richard of Burgettstown, Pa and Mary Lou Martire Pittman and her husband David of Weirton, WV; brother Armando Martire and sisters Carmela Amendola and Elena Amendola all of Longobardi, Italy. He has five grandchildren Chelsie, Brandon and Alicia Palmeri, Bailey Soplinski and Antonio Pittman.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9PM Wednesday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St, Weirton where a vigil service will be held Wednesday evening at 8:00PM in the funeral home. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be Thursday, 10:00AM at St Joseph the Worker Church, Weirton.
Entombment will be at St Paul Cemetery Mausoleum.
