Patricia Ann Barone, 70, of Weirton, WV, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 30, 2016. Born on June 9, 1945, in Ferrell PA, Patti was the daughter of the late Frank Nunkovich and Mary Zomborac Nunkovich Stamatis. She was also preceded in death by her step father, Angelo Stamatis; brothers, Rudy and Larry Nunkovich; and her loving husband, Ralph G. Barone on February 24, 2015. Patti graduated from Sharon High School and Youngstown Business College. A talented singer and bouzouki player, Patti used to perform with the Louis Fatima Orchestra. She also performed with the Tamburitzans. When her children started attending college, Patti's culinary skills led her to work for 15 years in the Eat N Park bakery in Weirton. But most of all, Patti will be remembered as a quiet, loving, devoted mother, grandmother and wife, who always was there with a prayer, a kind heart, and a gentle word of encouragement. She was an active member of the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church in Weirton, where she taught Sunday School, and sang in the Church Choir. Patti is survived by her two sons, Michael F. Barone (Heather) of Greeley, CO, and Alexander D. Barone (Jessica) of Fairmont, WV; her two daughters, Crissellene Barone (Ivan Bertovich), and Ginneene Barone all of Weirton, WV; a sister, Janet Smith of Hermitage, PA; a brother, Dan Nunkovich of Oviedo, FL; and two grandchildren, Dominick and Maya Barone of Fairmont, WV. Visitation will be 2-5 Sunday at All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 3528 West Street Weirton, WV, with additional visitation on Monday from 10 AM until time of funeral services at 11 AM Monday. Reverend Father Frank A. Milanese will preside. Trisagion Services will be Sunday at 4:30 PM at the Church. Interment will be in Saint Paul's Cemetery, Weirton. Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Greek Orthodox Church. PO Box 128 Weirton, WV 26062.

  1. The world lost an angel, and heaven gained another one! Patti was a kind, gentle, beautiful person–the epitome of a real lady. She loved God and her family and friends. Those who were lucky to know her were better people because of her example. Prayers to her children and the rest of her family.

  5. I met Patty years ago when she married “Uncle Ralph” as we called him. She was so wonderful, vibrant, talented and loved everyone and everything! I was shocked to hear of her passing at such a young age. My thoughts and prayers are with her children and family. May she rest in God’s eternal peace!
