Patricia Ann Waggoner

Patricia Ann Waggoner, 74, of Weirton, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at WVU Weirton Medical Center.

Born on December 16, 1950, in Steubenville, OH., she was the only daughter of Steve and Mafalda Pompa Julio. A graduate of Follansbee High School, Class of 1969, Patricia married the love of her life, John Waggoner, on December 14, 1985. Their bond was unbreakable, and she cherished every moment with him until his passing on October 1, 2021.

Patricia was a devoted mother and a woman of quick wit, humor, and honesty. She had a knack for making up songs about anything, whether it was the refrigerator or the little things around the house, bringing joy and laughter to those around her. She never hesitated to share her opinion, even if you weren’t quite ready to hear it, but that was part of her charm.

Her love for John was unwavering. She would follow him anywhere—to car shows, flea markets, festivals, and antique malls—enjoying every moment spent together. A passionate New York Jets fan, Patricia had a lifelong admiration for Joe Namath, cheering them on, even through the lean years.

Patricia was a gifted cook, known especially for her spaghetti and cabbage rolls, dishes that brought family and friends together. She took great pride in her Italian heritage and embraced it wholeheartedly. A woman of faith, she was a dedicated member of Weirton First Church of the Nazarene, where she found strength and community.

Above all, Patricia loved her home and her role as a homemaker, finding joy in creating a warm and welcoming space for her family.  She especially embraced her role as a grandmother, cherishing all moments afforded to her.

Patricia will be remembered for her humor, her honesty, and the love she shared so freely.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, John, and her brother, Angelo Julio.

Left to cherish her memory with Love and Admiration are her daughters Amanda (Charles) Rochinich of Weirton, Crystal (Rian) Lane of Wintersville, Jennifer (Michael) Hodges of Kenna, WV., son Eric (Paula) Waggoner of Richmond, OH., grandchildren Matthew (Ashley) Waggoner, Cody Waggoner, Taylor and Jacob Lane, and Regan Temple, great-grandchildren Kannon Waggoner and Gavin Blake, and brother Dave (Diane) Julio.

Patricia’s request for cremation will be honored, she will be cremated at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home Crematory, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV., 26062.

Patricia’s Memorial Service will be at the convenience of the family.

Her family and friends will deeply miss her, but they take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved John.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to Patricia’s family.
