paul lambert

Paul Allen Lambert, 84, of New Cumberland, WV, passed away peacefully in the early hours of December 4, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on April 8, 1940, in Pennsboro, WV, Paul was the cherished son of Rondle and Bessie Freeland Lambert.

On April 11, 1958, Paul married the love of his life, Linda Jones, beginning a devoted partnership over 66 years. Together, they built a life grounded in love, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to family.
Paul spent over six decades as a self-employed truck driver, hauling primarily steel locally. During slower times in the industry, his resilience and determination led him to transport onions and melons from Texas to the Northeast. His tireless work ethic ensured that his family was always provided for, and his dedication earned the admiration of those around him.

A man of many interests, Paul found joy in woodworking and navigating radio-controlled airplanes. A proud member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA), he pursued his hobby with enthusiasm and camaraderie. He also treasured annual family trips to Myrtle Beach, staying on Hotel Row along the boardwalk. Collecting seashells during these visits was a pastime he cherished, creating memories that his family will forever hold dear.

Above all, Paul was a family man, a devoted husband, and a steadfast role model to all who knew him. His kind heart, strong character, and love for life will be remembered by those fortunate enough to call him a friend, neighbor, or family member.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his sister, Shelva Jean Cowan.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Ronnie (Cathy) Lambert of Burlington, NC., Eric (Jennifer) Lambert of Baker Fl., daughter Crystal Baker of New Cumberland, and her significant other Lonnie Wade, grandchildren Travis Baker, Zach, McKenzie, and Alexis Lambert.

Friends can visit Paul’s family on Tuesday, from 5 – 7 pm at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV., where funeral services will be held at 7 pm.

Burial will be in Mt. Harmony Masonic Cemetery, Pennsboro, WV.

Pastor James Rhodes will officiate.
