penelope diniaco
Penny Stakias Diniaco passed away April 16, 2012. She was born Sept 28, 1927 in Weirton, WV and was the daughter of the late Paul and Chrisanthy (Goldie) Janodis Stakias. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gus Diniaco and her brothers Harry, George and Alexander Stakias. Penny worked with her husband, Gus, running his appraisal business. For nearly 50 years, she was his office manager. Prior to this time, she worked for The Children's Shop and the Hub of Steubenville as a buyer of children's clothes. She was a graduate of Weir High School and a member of the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church. She was a Rotary Ann who served as first lady during her husband's term as president and district governor and enjoyed traveling to Rotary conferences. She is survived by her two daughters: Tina Gaston and her husband, Larry, of Colliers, WV and Chrys Diniaco and her husband, Floyd Stokes, of Atlanta, GA; and one grandson: Cody Gaston. Visitation will be 4pm-8pm Wednesday, April 18, at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Additional visitation will be held Thursday from 10 until the 11AM funeral service at the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Weirton. Interment will be at the Union Cemetery, Sunset Blvd, Steubenville, OH. The family would like to thank Dr. Ray Greco for all his years of wonderful care and friendship. We would also like to thank Amy and Judi from Valley Hospice for all their care and compassion. Memorial contributions can be made to Ohio Valley Hospice or the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church.
