Peter Zdan, 90, of Weirton died Friday July 3, 2009, at the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
He was born on July 4, 1918, in Basia Gorna, Ukraine, a son of the late Aleksy and Maria (Wus) Zdan.
Pete retired as a second helper in the Weirton Steel Blast Furnace with 32 years of Service.
He was a member of the Saint Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, and the Weirton Steel 25 Year Club.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Pelepshuk Zdan; two sons, Mike and his wife Sharon Zdan, and John Zdan all of Weirton, WV; his granddaughters, Shelli and Victor Seccuro; Amy and Ryan Bartoe; his great granddaughter, Taylor Zdan.
Visitation will be 1-3 & 6-8 PM Sunday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St, Weirton, WV.
Parastas service will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday,
A Blessing Service will be held 9:30 AM Monday in the funeral home.
His Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated, 10 AM Monday, at St Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, 3116 Elm St, Weirton, WV.
Rev. Fr. Edward Lucas will preside.
Burial will follow at Saint Paul Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church.

Sharon’s Dad Charles “Bill” Shreve was in the hospital with your Dad at Weirton Medical at the same times and same room at the same time periods on the fifth and sixth floors. My Dad worked with Pete in Weirton Steel. Dad reconized Pete’s voice.I can remember your Dad singing at times in the hospital even with his illness, he was a joy to talk to, the nurses loved him.
