Philomena Scardetta

Philomena Scardetta, 90, of Pittsburgh, PA, formerly of Weirton, passed away Monday, July 25, 2005 at Windsor Place in Pittsburgh, PA. Born October 24, 1914 in Burdine, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine Castellina Tordolino. Philomena was also preceded in death by her husband Joseph Scardetta on January 7, 1973, daughter Cecilia Scardetta, brother Weedo Tordolino and sisters Helen Caccavale and Mary Basil. Philomena was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Her survivors include son Louis Scardetta of Pittsburgh, PA; daughter Rosemarie Matlak and her husband Joseph of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren Matthew, Mark and John Matlak; 3 great-grandchildren Justin, Mallory and Zachary Matlak; and sister Emma Adams of Union Lake, Michigan. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 11AM Thursday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
