Quintina ''Chata'' Swartzmiller

Quintina “Chata” Swartzmiller, 64, of Weirton, died Saturday, January 26, 2002, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. She was born May 6, 1937 in Isabella, Puerto Rico, a daughter of the late Rosendo Gonzalez and Marcella (Gonzalez) Gonzalez. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Juan and Roberto; and two sisters, Beatrios and Angelina.
Chata was a homemaker and also worked in retail sales for Grant’s in Weirton. She was a member of Evangel Baptist Church in Weirton.
Chata is survived by her husband of 45 years, John J. Swartzmiller of Weirton, whom she married on October 14, 1957; one son, Jeffrey Swartzmiller and his wife Ronda of Weirton; one daughter, Julie Eliason of Glen Cove, NY; three sisters, Valentina and Marguerita of Isabella, Puerto Rico, and Marcella of New York; and two grandchildren, Cody and Jordan.
Visitation will be from 7-9 PM Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 PM Tuesday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday.
