ralph nickoson, sr.
Ralph E. Nickoson, Sr., 77, of Weirton, formerly of Brilliant, OH, died Thursday, May 23, 2002 in the Emergency Room of the Weirton Medical Center. He was born June 18, 1924 in Brilliant, the son of the late Elmer and Sara (Stidd) Nickoson. He was also preceded in death by one son, Ronald Nickoson, and three sisters, Mary Belle Mackey, Ruth Hilliard, and Martha Nickoson. Ralph had 21 years of service in the Maintenance Department of Weirton Medical Center. He served his country in both the Merchant Marines and the Air Force during WWII. He was a member of the Mercy Baptist Church and a charter member of the Brilliant American Legion. Ralph is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Robertson) Eannottie Nickoson of Weirton, whom he married on June 10, 1972; three sons, Robert Nickoson and his wife Linda of Tallmadge, OH, Richard Nickoson and his wife Cindy of Mingo Junction, OH, and Ralph Nickoson, Jr. and his wife Margaret of Brilliant, OH; two stepsons, Randall Eannottie and his wife Lois of Tampa, FL, and Frank Eannottie and his wife Anita of Bloomingdale, OH; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Frank (Debra) Tolman of Piney Fork, OH; and six grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, five great grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 PM Friday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton. Additional visitation will be Saturday from 9 AM until time of service at 10 AM at Mercy Baptist Church, Weirton. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton, with military services performed by the American Legion Post 10, VFW 2716, and the Tri-State Marine Corps.
