reed haynes

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a caring young man, Reed E. Haynes. Reed passed away January 18, 2023. He was 16 years old.

Reed was born on February 27, 2006, in Weirton, WV to Matthew Haynes and Misty Spadafora.

At the age of 9, Reed moved to Florida with his family and returned in June of 2021. In the Fall of 2021, he transferred into Steubenville Big Red High School after completing his freshman year at Eustis High School in Florida.

A Junior at Steubenville Big Red High School, Reed enjoyed health and fitness, music, and playing basketball in the AAU and at the YMCA. He excelled in English scoring a 27 on the ACT. Quiet, humble, and hardworking are just a few words that could best describe Reed. If you knew him, you knew of his huge heart, his ability to lift others up and his kind soul. He gave the best advice, when asked, literally saving other kids lives.

He enjoyed watching the Chicago Bulls, Pittsburgh Steelers or having fun at a trampoline park with his friends.

Most of all Reed will be remembered for always helping others in need.

The impact that Reed has made in the lives of others will live on for an eternity.

Reed is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Jim Haynes and his paternal great grandfather, George Borsch; his maternal great grandparents, Robert and Roberta Roberts and John and Sue Spadafora.

He will be remembered with love by his mother, Misty Spadafora, his father, Matthew (Amy) Haynes; his brothers, Lucas Stewart and Jacob Haynes, his sister, Katie (Tyler) Roush; his best friend, Jonas Nielson, who he met while attending Celebration Church in FL; maternal grandparents, John “Skip” and Donna Spadafora; paternal grandmother, Cindy Haynes; paternal, great grandmother. Martha Borsch; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be 1-4 on Sunday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV where funeral services will be held at 4 PM.

Pastor Richard Huchinson will preside.

Please keep his family in your prayers.
