Rich A. Marinacci

Richard Allen “Rich” Marinacci, 79, of Weirton, West Virginia, passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, July 27, 2026.

Born on July 7, 1947, in Steubenville, Ohio, Rich was the middle of three sons born to the late John and Ann Polewac Marinacci. He graduated from Weir High School with the Class of 1965 before serving his country in the United States Army. During his military service, Rich was entrusted with training Army Rangers in the operation and marksmanship of the M-16 rifle, a responsibility that reflected both his discipline and exceptional skill.

After returning home to Weirton, Rich married his high school sweetheart, Rebecca “Dwan” Park, on May 9, 1970. Together they built a life centered on hard work, devotion, and family, and were blessed with a son and a daughter.

Rich dedicated 43 years of his life to Weirton Steel, where he retired as a Lead Operator in the Basic Oxygen Plant Caster.

A man of remarkable ability, Rich was largely self-taught and possessed an inquisitive mind that allowed him to master nearly anything he set out to do. He literally built the family home with his own hands. If his hands were not in the dirt tending to his yard and garden, they were mixing concrete or working on another project. Quiet by nature but always straightforward and honest, Rich let his actions speak louder than words. He found simple joy in cultivating his garden, caring for his property, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca “Dwan” Park Marinacci; his son, John A. Marinacci; his daughter, Danielle Marinacci; and his brothers, Larry J. Marinacci and Daniel J. Marinacci, P.E., along with his nieces and nephews, Thomas Joseph Marinacci, Kathleen Ann Marinacci, Dena Miller and Todd Perry.

In accordance with his family’s wishes, private burial will take place at Saint Paul’s Cemetery in Weirton.
