  15. I first met “Slick Rick” about 4 years ago while he was dining in my restaurant in Myrtle Beach. He was having his favorite dish, our Jim Beam Rack of Lamb. We first got to talking about football and how we were both die-hard Steelers fans, my family is from West Mifflin / Pleasant Hills. Shortly after, every time Rick came to town he hung out with me and all of my friends to watch the Steelers destroy the competition. He was fun-loving, quick to crack a smile, quick-witted, and warm-hearted. He would never tell us when he was coming, he would only have the hostess or server at my restaurant find me to tell me that “Slick Rick” had arrived. I always looked forward to his visits. And will forever miss his unexpected arrivals and sly sense of humor. Thanks for all of the memories Rick. And tell my Dad hello for me, he will be in the Steeler section of heaven too! Always your Friend, Dave Amend

  17. Rick and I got reaquainted when he relocated to Raleigh. It was great to share all of the old stories about growing up in Weirton. There was never a dull moment when we had lunch or spoke on the phone. Rick had the gift of gab and you had to speak fast when you could. He came to my home and shared his war memories with my children. My daughter wrote a book report in school based upon his stories. No matter what subject I brought up Rick always was well read and had an opinion. You will be missed: Your good friend, Perry

  18. I had the pleasure of working in the same room as Rick for my first three years at ITS. It was a blast and he could always bring a smile or cheer me up. I used to pick at him by whistling Christmas tunes in July. He would say he could never trust a whistling woman. When I returned to ITS after a brief absence Rick was one of the first people I looked up. He was a good friend and will be missed by everyone that knew him.

  19. Ever since I met Rick at ITS in 1999, until I saw him last year, he was still the pleasant conversationist as always. May his soul rest in peace

  20. Our deepest Sympathies. Remembering how Rick used to make us laugh! Such a young man to be taken so soon! May he rest in peace and may God comfort the ones he has left behind.

  21. My heart goes out to you in your time of sorrow. May your heart and soul find peace and comfort Although it’s difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow. May the blessings of love be upon you, May its peace abide within you, May its essence illuminate your heart, now and forever more Hold tight to memories for comfort, lean on your friends for strength, and always remember how we all loved Rick. I pray the love of God engulfs you during your difficult times and He helps you heal with the passage of time. Let His peace surpass all Understanding. May the love of those around you help you through the days ahead. Please accept all our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. Our thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time. Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know that they are happy.

  22. To Rick’s family: Rick was a wonderful person with a delightful sense of humor and very nice to everyone. I met him when I came to ITS 13 years ago. We have had many, many conversations over the years and he was very easy to talk to. He will surely be missed by many. May God bring you peace and comfort during this difficult time and may your wonderful and loving memories keep him forever alive in you hearts and minds.

  23. I miss our talks, the laughs, and your smiling face everyday since you left. I know you’re in a better place with the ones you love and I’ll see you there one day.

  24. Words fail me now, as the other true Pollack, we always had stories about the old neighborhood, and Polish customs. Whenever we got together everybody had a good time. You will be missed. My condoleces to your family.

  25. I am very sorry to hear of Rick’s death. I worked with him until I retired. Rick was always pleasant and helpfull. I will miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

  26. Dear Karen, MIchael and Family, Our deepest sympathy. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. God Bless, Bill and Paulette Galiotos Cindy Nagy Minnie Bogdan

  27. So sorry I did not get to see you or come to the funeral. I remember a lot of good times but the BEST was when we were best friend as children. The best thing was your mother and my uncle married and best friends became cousins. Doesn’t get any better than that. My thoughts and prayers will be with you always. Love, your friend and cousin, Ralph

  28. We are all sad to learn of your passing, here at Pulcinella’s. I will miss our afternoon chats at table 1. You are a one of a kind and will be sorely missed. I am glad I had the pleasure of knowing you.

  29. I have known Rick for nine years. He was one special kind of man, always with a smile and something to lift my spirits. I know he’s at the pearly gates telling St. Peter a joke before passing through to glory. My thoughts and prayers to his family.
