Richard Daniel "Dick" Reinard, Sr.

Richard Daniel "Dick" Reinard, Sr. 89, of Weirton passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013 in Serra Manor. He was born on January 7, 1924 in Homer City, PA to the late Robert and Geneva Marie Johns Reinard. He was also preceded in death by his wife Ruth Ellen Mackenzie Reinard, four brothers Robert H., Howard C., James R. and Arthur E. Reinard and a sister Mary Alice Barto.
Mr. Reinard retired after 39 years with Weirton Steel Corporation in the open hearth and B.O.P. He also worked in the maintenance department of the Millsop Community Center and was an airplane mechanic with the Army Air Corp. during WWII. Mr. Reinard was very active member with the Weirton Area Museum and Cultural Center, AARP, Three Score Seniors, Weirton Heights Volunteer Fire Department and Paris Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his two sons Richard Daniel Reinard, Jr. (Diane) of Prescott Valley, AZ and Timothy Reinard (Angela) of Weirton, WV; a brother Harry G. Reinard of Henderson, NV; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a close friend Patty Reinard.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1-3 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Additional visitation will be held Monday from 10AM until the 11AM funeral service at Paris Presbyterian Church, 127 Steubenville Pike Burgettstown, PA 15021. Interment will be in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to Paris Presbyterian Church, 127 Steubenville Pike, Burgettstown, PA 15021.
Rick and Tim, sorry to hear the loss of your father. I know and remember how stern he was of his boys, in fact how stern he was of all the neighborhood kids. I have very fond memories of your Dad from the neighborhood growing up and from the Community Center when he work there.

I just wanted say that I was sorry to hear about the loss of your family member. You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
Unfortunately I have not been feeling well,so I probably will not be able to pay my respects in person.

Sorry for your loss to the Reinard Family…Fathers are always remembered as the Rock of the family, and in a different way than others, But as a testimate to knowing part of the family.. he had a hand in who you all became and how you each became the strength of your own famil’ys and how the family will live on with new generations in rememberance of him..God Bless your family and may he give you Peace and Comfort that he is with the almighty of Strengths, Our Lord Jesus in Heaven..

So sorry to hear of Pap’s passing. What a GREAT Gentleman he was. I have so many wonderful memories of him with his huge smile may God bless you all as you reflect on your memories as you travel the grief path of missing him.
