Memories Timeline

  1. As a newcomer to the family, I only wish I would have come into the Findley’s lives much earlier than I did. Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to spend much time with Rick and therefore, I did not know him all that well. But from simply falling in love with his youngest daughter, Danielle, and meeting the rest of his family and friends, I know this Richard W. Findly, Jr. (“Rocky” to his closest friends) was a man’s man – a true friend, a kind, caring, and loving person, and above all else, a family man. May you rest in peace and play endless rounds of golf in heaven while watching down upon us.

  2. My uncle Rick was a very special man. He was loving and strong, both for his parents and his family. I was able to talk to him a week before his death and I told him I loved him. He said “I love you too kid”. I will forever remember and cherish these words. My prayers and love go out to my Aunt Cil, my cousins Michelle, Chad, Danielle, to my grandparents Helen & Richard, my uncle Jack, and lastly my dad Daniel. We will forever feel the loss of our beloved Rick, but know he is not suffering anymore.

  3. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. Hugs and kisses to all……Bill and Lou, Skip and Debbie, Toffy and Julie

  4. Cil Was so sorry to hear of your husbands passing. I was planning on coming to the funeral home to pay my respects but up here on the hill it is really bad. MY prayers are with you and your family. Take comfort in knowing you have a wonderful family and it is because of how you and your husband worked together. Love Peggy

  5. My thoughts and prayers are with you. May God bring you peace. Danielle, I miss you! I love you all!

  6. My thoughts and prayers go out to Cil and the family. If there is anything I can do please let me know.Sonny will miss him as much as the immediate family. They were good and true friends. Sonny told me about his dream and Rich said he was okay. That made Sonny feel so much better. Take care and remember I’m here if you need me.

  7. It was a honor to care for your loved one. I’m truly lucky to have known him. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. You have my sympathy. Please give each other a hug for me. Sincerely, Julie Brahmer

  8. Ricky and I were hometown friends, growing-up in Cairnbrook. I have so many wonderful memories of those times and our friendship. One memory is of his senior year and his ability to run the quarterback sweep (now called the student body left or right). I’ve seen alot of Somerset County football, but there has never been another quarterback that could run that play better than Rocky. Tight-end Kuzupas and Guard Hat-toe would pull out first. Then Furch and Big Jim would lead the secondary interference. Then Rocky, quick and fast, would find daylight. My sincere condolences to his family.

  9. Dear Cil, Michelle, Chad , Danielle, Jordan, Christopher and Little Kaitlyn, I wish I could bring your dad back to all of you and for to him to be healhty and perfect. But all I know is that where he is now – he will be just that forever. He will not know the pain that he came to know over the past days, he will only know the joy of watching over his beloved family. He will spend every waking moment in the hearts and lives of those he touched, and this will forever be his legacy. The legacy of his magical dancing feet and his one of a kind smile. The smile that you all have. The eyes that I never once saw a spec of anger or have ill feeling towards anyone but eyes that were always full of a love for life and tremendous love for his family. Your daddy is a wonderful man who can never be replaced and for those who knew him, will never be very far away. Not a moment has gone by over the past few days that you and your family and Rocky’s friends have not been in my thoughts and in my heart. More so than ever. You all mean the world to me. You took me in as a Findley, and with that, a part of Rick will always be inside of me. For your Father who taught me to dance, every one will be for him. I wish that I could take all the hurt and pain away for you and surround you all with a huge blanket of love. My heart breaks for each of you. For the times I have spoken with you on the phone over the past few days, I apologize for not knowing what to say. Because if there is one thing I have learned which someone very special taught me, all you can do is just feel. And once you experience a wonderful love and witness someone love life to the fullest – you then get a glimpse of heaven and just how simple life can be. I love all of you more than you could ever know and I thank you all for the chance to know and share In the love and life of your Father and your family. I love you Rick. And I love each and everyone of you with all my heart. Missing You – With all my love, Julz
