Rita Colantonio, 89, was a loving wife and mother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Formerly of Weirton, left this world on May 4, 2022, at the Potomac Valley Nursing Home in Rockville, MD. She was born to Camillo and Mary (Antrilli) Palizzi on January 6, 1933. In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband, John Colantonio, a brother, Nick Palizzi, and a sister, Helen Oxier. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Yanjanin, her husband Charles of Germantown, Md, Loretta Colantonio and her husband Ken Jones of N. Potomac, MD; granddaughters Nicole Farhat (David) and Vicki Mendonca (Shawn); great-granddaughters Nora and Rose, and great-grandson, Dean; two sisters, Rosie Barchiesi of Follansbee, WV, Anna (Jack) Dugan of Steubenville, OH, a brother, Anthony (Peggy) Palizzi, and several nieces and nephews. Friends and family will be received Monday, from 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St, Weirton, WV. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, at 1:00 PM at St. Joseph the Worker Church. Interment will follow in Saint Paul Cemetery, Weirton, WV. Father Anthony G. Thurston will officiate.
