Mr. Robert Brancazio
December 1, 1964 ~ June 22, 2025
Born in:
Steubenville, OH
Resided in:
Weirton, WV
While his wife held his hand, Robert Brancazio of Weirton, WV, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025. Born on December 1, 1964, in Steubenville, OH. He was 60 years old.
Attending Steubenville High School, he focused on the JVS Horticulture Program and graduated in 1983. He returned to Steubenville High School to work in maintenance and became a certified stationary engineer. After SHS installed a pool and diving pool, he also became a certified spa and pool operator, maintaining the filter and pumps. Robert retired from SHS in 2014. After retirement, he continued to assist his friends and family with all kinds of handyman projects.
Robert was known for his witty, rapid humor, his love of golf, and his love of all animals. He adopted several stray cats and had a special bond with Buddy Boo, whom he rescued from Logan Street in front of Steubenville High School (SHS) in 1999. He fed every bird in the tri-state area and made special trips to stay stocked with black sunflower seeds. Daily, he filled his bird feeders, rain or snow.
Robert was a bit obsessed with golfing, but that paid off when he met Christine on the golf course. She would become his closest friend, companion, and wife. For 20 years, they played the game together from early Spring through Fall and sometimes even in the snow.
Robert was an excellent cook. He built the kitchen he wanted and prepared dinner every night, being creating with ingredients, especially farmer’s market produce. He taught his nephew how to make pierogi, loved to share food with others, and recreated many recipes that he saw on Food Network.
He constantly read books on many subjects and volunteered to edit self-published books by authors whom he followed. He had a vast knowledge of so many subjects that he could talk to practically anyone about anything. He was a true music lover and appreciated classical to rock, and eventually…even country.
He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Weirton. He was a convert to Catholicism as a young adult and prayed daily for those he loved. When his mother-in-law hurt her back several years before she passed, he made and took her lunch and dinner every day and sat and talked with her, just the two of them. His care was constantly shown through his deeds.
Mostly, what Robert will be remembered for is his unwavering love for his wife. Her happiness was his priority, and he showed it in every action and word.
Formerly of Steubenville, OH, Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Yocum Brancazio, his father, Joseph Brancazio, his brother, Joseph Brancazio, his sister, Cynthia Brancazio, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Irene Wilson.
Robert’s love, humor, and devotion will be treasured forever by his wife of 24 years, Christine, whose love for him will keep him with her always. He will be missed by his brothers, Richard (Gayle) of Mingo Junction, OH, Michael (Carrie) Brancazio of Mingo Junction, OH, sister-in-law, Diana Wilson of Weirton, brothers-in law, Jeffery (Barbara) Wilson of Weirton, Perry Wilson of Phoenix, AZ, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 4-6 pm at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV.
At 6 pm, following the viewing, his wife will eulogize Robert, the man she knew and loved. Friends and family are invited to share memories of Rob.
Those that remain will be invited to gather to share food and drinks.
He will be cremated at the Greco-Hertnick Crematory, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV.
Robert’s wife extends her gratitude to the staff at Fresenius Kidney Care in Weirton.

Robert always made our day go so much faster with his humor. We had the best of fun with Robert in Horticulture or the FFA Convention in Columbus. He was so kind and fun to be with. I am not able to stop by as I am out of town. Sending you all many prayers.
Rest In Peace Robert
