Robert Charles Bockey
November 3, 1929 ~ January 1, 1953
Missing in Action since 1953, Sergeant Robert Charles Bockey, 23, of Weirton will be laid to rest on Friday, June 5, 2009 in St. Paul Cemetery with full military services being conducted.
Born November 3, 1929, he was the son of the late Lewis and Helen Beckman Bockey. He was also preceded in death by his sister Eleanor Arbo, brother Richard Bockey and nephew Walter Arbo Jr.
Prior to enlisting in the United States Army, Robert worked at Continental Can in Weirton.
Sgt. Bockey is survived by his nieces Judy Stringer and Carolyn Karas both of Steubenville, OH and Diane Tomlon of New Haven, IN; great nephews David, Tracy, Kevin and Jarrett Stringer, David, and Doug Donehoo and Richard Karas and great nieces Denise Donehoo, Ashley Karas, Michelle Mendez and Kelly McGhe.
Friends will be received Friday, June 5, 2009 from 9AM until the 11AM funeral services at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. The Reverend Father Dean Borgmeyer will officiate.
