Robert Hugh McLaughlin, a lifelong resident of Weirton passed away on April 5, 2023, after a six-week battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 67.
Mac, Big Mac, or Mac Daddy as he was known to his friends and family was born in Weirton on June 17, 1955, one of seven children born to Calvin Lloyd and Evelyn V. Croniser McLaughlin.
After graduating from Weir High School in 1973, Mac enlisted in the United States Army in 1975. While serving in the Army, he married his high school sweetheart, Connie Tingler. Connie and Mac met in church when she was 14 years old and were married one month shy of her 18th birthday. They were blessed with a son and a very blessed family relationship for 48 years. Mac provided for his family by working at Weirton Steel and presently by working as a Call Out Clerk for Cleveland Cliffs.
His family was the world to Mac. He was the epitome of a family man. He enjoyed golfing with his wife and son, vacationing at Nags Head with them. He looked forward every year to watching the Masters Tournament with his family. For relaxation, he enjoyed fishing and collecting collectibles.
Mac nourished his faith at the Colliers Nazarene Church, where he loved to sing in the monthly hymn sings.
Most of all Mac will be remembered for the love he had for his family.
In addition to his parents, Mac was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara McLaughlin.
Mac will be remembered with love and admiration by his wife, Connie, his son, Logan; his brothers, Joseph (Debbie), John, and Lloyd; his sisters, Elizabeth Kriston, and Marcy (Lee) Speer.
Visitation will be 2-7 PM Monday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV, where funeral services beginning with military honors will be held at 7 PM.

Connie and Logan, I am so sorry to hear of Bobs passing. He was one of my favorite customers at Kroger, he called me Crystal because he said I looked like a Crystal, so I always called him a name other than Bob. May he rest in peace. I’ll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
