Robert John Waltz

Robert John Waltz, 76, of Weirton, WV, died Saturday, February 21, 2004 at the Weirton Medical Center.
He was born February 24, 1927 in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late Merle Waltz, Sr. and Anna Tarowsky Waltz. He was also preceded in death by one brother, William Waltz, and one sister, Jane Blair.
Bob retired with over 40 years of service as a roller in the Weirton Steel Tin Mill. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Weirton Steel 25 Year Club, B.P.O.E. #1801, V.F.W. #2716, Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #688, and the American Legion. Robert served his country in the Army during WWII.
Robert is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Gruda Waltz of Weirton, whom he married June 23, 1983; one son, Robert M. Waltz and his wife Patricia (Duco) Waltz of East Liverpool, OH; one daughter, Jeannie Rose of Moon Township, PA; three grandchildren, John R. Waltz, Danielle M. Waltz, and Veronica Simunick; and one nephew, James Blair of Wintersville, OH.
Visitation will be from 7-9 PM Sunday and 2-4 and 7-9 PM Monday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday.
Rev. Kevin Bowers will preside.
Entombment will follow at Union Cemetery, Steubenville, with military services conducted by the Evert Maki American Legion Post #10, V.F.W. #2716, and the Tri-State Marine Corps.
