  1. Bob will be sadly missed by all that knew him. I first met him in the late ’80’s when I was working at Burger King. Anytime I saw a police cruiser pull up with a #8 on the front, I made sure to make a fresh pot of coffee before he even came in the door. He REALLY loved fresh coffee! Bob was also extremely helpful while I was working as a paramedic. He knew exactly what we needed on emergency calls and was a great help on any EMS emergency. He was a good man, great friend, and served the citizens of Weirton very well.

  2. My deepest sympathy. My thought and prayers are always with you. I love you Uncle Bobby forever and always.

  3. Rob, Our thoughts, prayers, and sympathies are with you and your family at this difficult time. Harrison Junior High Staff

  4. Flavian and Bob were classmates at Weir High. He was a great guy — always helpful, always pleasant and will certainly be missed. Our condolences go out to his family.

  5. Please accept my deepest sympathy to the Richards Family. I came to know Bob while working in the ER, he would stop in frequently to check on the nursing staff and to sample our coffee. He was a good policeman serving his community. He spoke often of his lovely wife and was so proud of his children and kept us updated on their accomplishments.I am so sorry to hear of his passing. May God hold you in his comforting embrace.

  8. Connie and Family, I was checking the website, printing memorials left for my father when I saw the news about Bob. I don’t know if you remember me or not, I am Nick Barkas’s daughter, Barbie. My father was on the Department with “Uncle Bob.” Growing up in Weirton with a father on the PD provided a solid foundation for me, how could it not with 32 fathers? I know words cannot comfort you now. I still cannot believe my father is gone. They are bigger to life to us, and it’s amazing how much of a presence they were in our lives every day, even though we may not have thought of them consciously. I understand and feel the emptiness the children feel. I am so sorry I found this too late to offer my sympathies in person. I know my father thought alot of Bob. Please know you are in my prayers through this time.

  9. Cindy, Bobby and Stevie, I am so sorry for your loss. Bob was a fine man and was able to help so many people in his career. I have many fond memories of him. I especially remember how he would share the accomplishments of his boys — he was so proud of them.

  10. We will miss you Uncle Bob. You were a very kind and loving person and we were very lucky to have you. We know that you are with your family now and we will meet again soon. All our love, Judy,Debbie, Eddie and Bob
