Robert Roy Jones

Robert Roy Jones, 78, of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at his home. He was born January 30, 1938 in Steubenville, OH, the son of the late Raymond and Mary Ellen Hamilton Jones. He was also preceded in death by his son Larry R. Jones.
Mr. Jones worked as a chemist in the Quality Control Department for Weirton Steel. He was a member of the Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon and head usher. For many years, he coached the Weirton Termite basketball and baseball teams.
Robert is survived by his wife Janet (Montanaro) Jones of Weirton; grandchildren Tyler and Kelsie Jones and cousins Eloise and George Evans.
Private services were held by the family.

Janet , you are in my thoughts and prayers. I will never forget Bob sitting at the back of the church hugging and kissing us when we came home to visit. He was a staple there for so many years. Know that we all love you

Janet, Thank you for informing me about Bob. He was one of the first people I met when I started working at the chemistry lab at Weirton Steel in 1961. I have thought of him often. May God bless
