Robert S. Hirkala, 46, of Weirton died December 21, 2000 at Weirton Medical Center. He was born in Steubenville, Ohio on December 24, 1953, a son of Evalyn Benton Hirkala of Weirton and the late John S. Hirkala. Robert was a sexton for Hancock County Cemeteries. He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Besides his mother, he is survived by 1 son: John R. Hirkala of Weirton, 1 daughter: Stephanie M. Hirkala of Weirton, 1 brother: Ronald Hirkala and his wife Debi of New Cumberland, WV, 2 sisters: Mrs. Ronnie (Margaret) Jones of Weirton and Mrs. Richard (Bernadette) DeCollo of Arnold, MO, 1 grandson: Devon Becker of Weirton. Visitation will be held Friday 2-4 and 7-9 at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home where a wake service will be held 3:30 PM Friday.
