Robert W. Cattrell

Robert W. Cattrell, 85, of Weirton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 30, 2021, at Woodland Hills Assisted Living Facility.
Robert, known to his friends and family as Bob, was born in Steubenville, Ohio, on Sunday, August 11, 1935, to Ralph and Margie Cattrell of Weirton.
In his youth, he caddied at Williams Country Club and graduated from Weir High School in 1953. He later served in the United States Army from 1957 through 1961, where he achieved the rank of sergeant.
Bob married Angela DiVirgilio on July 30, 1960, and they settled on Marland Heights in Weirton, where they raised their family. Bob proudly served as a member of the Weirton Police Reserves while working at Weirton Steel Corporation.
He was a member of the Weirton Steel 25-year club and a former member of Pleasant Valley Country Club.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Angela, in 2006.
He is survived by his sons, Bob Cattrell (Dulcie) and Rick Cattrell, three grandchildren, Heather Cattrell, Alex Cattrell, Nicholas Cattrell, and his sister Carolyn Girvin (Brian).
There will be no visitation.
Private interment will be held at Saint Paul’s Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to your local animal shelter in honor of Bob’s love of animals.
