Roger Wilber "Buck" Champ, 85, of Weirton, passed away Friday, June 02, 2017 at his home. He was born February 22, 1932 in Flint, WV, a son of the late Wilber E. and Hazel Mae Adams Champ. He was also preceded in death by 2 great-grandchildren, his brothers Fred Champ and sister Violet Johnson. With over 56 years of service, Roger retired from Weirton Medical Center where he worked in the facilities maintenance department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and driving around in his car. He especially enjoyed eating junk food, mostly Lays potato chips and apple pie. He was a member of the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church. Roger is survived by his wife Chrisoula Antoniou Champ of Weirton; sons Roger (Jery) Champ of New Cumberland, Ronnie and Randy (Carissa) Champ all of Jacksonville, FL, Robert (Lisa), Richard (Cindy) and Raymond (Loretta) Champ all of Weirton and Anastasiadou (Maria) Antoniou of Greece; daughters Cindy (Ron) Bennett of Weirton and Ann Champ of New Manchester, WV; brother Arthur Champ of Florida; sisters Sandra Tustin of New Cumberland and Linda (Larry) Pearson of Weirton; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren Visitation will be held Monday 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton where services will be celebrated at 1pm Tuesday. Trisagion service will be held 7:30pm Monday in the funeral home. The Reverend Father Frank Milanese will officiate. Interment will follow in Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens, Newell, WV. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.

  10. I so enjoyed my conversations with Mr. Champ while he was still working, and the last few years too. We shared a love of fishing and the eastern panhandle area. I will miss that.
