We announce the passing of Ronald Kay Michael, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, who left this world on June 23, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on December 6, 1950, in Paris, Pennsylvania, Ronald made his home in Weirton, West Virginia, where he influenced the lives of many with his warm smile and compassionate character.

A dedicated carpenter, Ronald dedicated his life to craftsmanship, always striving to provide for his family.

Ronald was married to his beloved wife, Rose, of 56 years. Their love story was one of support and partnership, characterized by shared laughter with countless cherished memories.

A proud family man, Ronald found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren, and he had an especially close relationship with granddaughter, Cassidy, and his great-granddaughter, Reva. Nothing brought him more happiness than watching them grow and thrive, sharing moments filled with love and laughter. Ronald also had a soft spot for animals, finding companionship and joy in the company of his five cats.

In addition to his family life, Ronald cherished his passions. He loved watching racing and football, and when he wasn’t cheering on his favorite teams, he enjoyed playing Spider Solitaire and working on cars. His adventurous spirit led him to travel, with Florida being his favorite destination, where he created lasting memories with his loved ones.

Ronald was preceded in death by his father William Michael, mother Mildred Reid, daughter Tracy Michael, and step-father Milo Reid

Above all, Ron was a family man. In addition to his beloved wife, Rose Michael, he is survived by his cherished daughter, Wendy Michael, his brothers, Donald, William, Jerry (Terry), Rich (Sandy), and Randy (Christina) Michael, as well as his sisters, Tracy (Tony) McCallister and Tricia Yocum. He took great pride in his role as a grandfather to Cassidy (Vincent) Phillips, Shawn Phillips, Sierra (Dallas) Phillips, and his great-granddaughter, Reva Vitale-Gentry. He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews. Ron’s love and guidance will continue to be felt by all of them.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Hancock County Humane Foundation.

Per Ronald’s wishes he will be cremated at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home at 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV 26062.
