Rosalind ''Roz'' Giglio
November 22, 1948 ~ February 9, 2002
Rosalind “Roz” Laurine Giglio, 53 of Weirton, WV, died on February 9 2002, at the Weirton Medical Center, after a lengthy battle with lupus.
She was born on November 22, 1948, the daughter of Doreen Snutch Laurine of Weirton and the late Philip Laurine, who passed away on September 12, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her nephew, Matthew T. Moore on April 28, 2001.
Roz was a retired emergency room nurse from Saint John Medical Center (Trinity West) in Steubenville, OH. She was a member of Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church in Weirton, a 1966 graduate of Follansbee high School and a 1968 graduate of GM Spurr School of Nursing in Glen Dale, WV. Roz was Past Vice President, L B Millsop School, Brooke High Football Mom’s, Brooke Basketball Boosters and Basketball Babes and a member of the Western PA Chapter of the Lupus Foundation, Millsop Community Center, Christian Mothers of Saint Pauls Roman Catholic Church.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 31 ½ years, Peter Giglio and a son Steven Giglio both of Weirton, WV, a sister, Mrs. James (Denise) Klug of Proctor, WV, three brothers, Anthony “Tony” Laurine of Weirton, WV, Harold “Mark” Laurine of Steubenville, OH, and James C. Laurine of Saint Clairsville, OH, her two best friends, Diane Davis of Cleveland, OH and Linda Mossgrove of Weirton, WV, six nieces and three nephews.
Friends and relatives will be received 1-3 & 7-9 PM Sunday and 2-4 & 7-9 PM Monday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV
Funeral liturgy with mass will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday at Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weirton, with Rev. Fr. Tony Thurston and Rev Fr. Steve Putenparckal as celebrants.
Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Follansbee, WV

Dear Pete and family, It is always a terribly frightening thing when one of our own passes. I remember her well. We shared classes together and a lot of smiles over the years at FHS. I was so sadded to see Roz’s smiling face among the obituaries on thie website. I remember her charming personality while I served as an associate pastor at St. Paul’s. Be assured of my thoughts and prayers as you grieve your loss.
I remember Roz from High School. She was always so much fun to be around and made people laugh. I graduated with her husband, Pete. Her family has my sympathies.

Roz, You were my first friend, playmate, and neighbor. We knew each other since we were toddlers. You were a terrific person and are missed by everyone. I was doing chemo and was sick at the time of your funeral so I missed being with you one last time. I love you and will miss you as will every one else who ever knew you.
