rose boniti

Rose Louise Boniti, of Weirton, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 8, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family at Serra Manor. She was ninety-four years old. Born on February 21, 1930, in Eldersville, PA, Rose was the cherished daughter of John and Yadveka Sultie.

A graduate of Burgettstown High School in 1947, she married Elmer Joseph Boniti in 1964 and together they built a life around family.

Roses’ every action was for her family whether preparing meals; chauffeuring her three children to sporting events; or doting on grandchildren. Her devotion to her family was rivaled only by her profound faith; she was a lifelong member of Saint Paul’s Roman Catholic Church and never missed mass. Her sense of humor was a delight to all who knew her, and she was known for her love of sports, especially cheering for her three grandchildren, North Carolina Tarheel Basketball and the Pittsburgh Steelers. She rarely missed a chance to watch her grandchildren’s sporting events, travelling the valley to fill the stands with her unwavering support and pride.

Rose’s culinary talents were treasured by her family, especially during the holidays when she crafted special dishes with love and tradition. She also found joy in the occasional trip to the casino, adding a little excitement to her days.

Rose adored fashion and enjoyed shopping with her granddaughters, creating memories and passing down her love for stylish clothes. She loved to watch and talk basketball with her
grandson.

In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Boniti, and her siblings, John Jr., Helen, Edith, Ignace, Ann, Mary, Sandy and Frances.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Gregory (Deborah) Boniti, Rodney (Laura) Boniti and Douglas Boniti, all of Weirton, grandchildren Megan Lynn, Rachel Nicole, and Evan ConnorBoniti.

Friends can visit with Rose’s family on Sunday from 3-6pm at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Monday, November 11, at Saint Paul’s Roman Catholic Church.

Reverend Dennis R. Schuelkens, Jr. will officiate.

Burial will be in Saint Paul’s Cemetery.
