Rose Marie Puskarich, 76, of Weirton, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2007 at her home. Born November 11, 1930 in Weirton, she was the daughter of the late George and Catherine Matijasic Puskarich. Rose was also preceded in death by her brothers John, Thomas, Marco and Rudy Puskarich and an infant brother George. After graduating with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education, Rose spent 40 years as a teacher, and in 1996, finished her career at the Liberty Elementary School. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Weirton Business & Professional Women’s Club, Hancock County Retired Teachers Association and was an active volunteer for Weirton Medical Center. Rose’s survivors include her brother George Paar; sister Mary Ann Tassey both of Weirton; nieces and nephews Tommy, Gary, Georgie, Rudy, Penney, Rudy Jr., Bonnie, Billy, Caroline, Kathy, Brent, Dr. David, Michelle, Rachelle, Richard, Mark, Jacque’, Robert and Cindy and many great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton where a Prayer Service will be held at 3:30 PM. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 11:30 AM Thursday at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. Reverend Father Dean Borgmeyer will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.   1. I remember going to Aunt Rose’s and Grandma’s house after church every Sunday where all the aunts and uncles and cousins would visit and play (and sometimes get into trouble) and eat. Thanks for the memories Aunt Rose. I’m sorry that we have lost you. Love, David.

  4. I was sorry to hear about the passing of Ms.Puskarich.She was all five of my children’s teacher up at Liberty School. She was always very kind and concerned about them not only as students but throughout the years. Whenever I would bump into her in the store, she would always ask about them. We have lost a very kind and caring person.
