rose wojdyla
Rose Pauline Wojdyla, 84, formerly of Weirton, died March 15, 2002, in Farmington Hills, Michigan. She was born July 7, 1917 in New Cumberland, WV, the daughter of the late Casper and Victoria Fala Yurko. Her husband John Wojdyla, a grandson David Wojdyla, five brothers Peter, Joseph, Vincent, Steve, and Walter Yurko, and a sister Mary Kaminski also preceded her in death. Rose, along with her husband John, were owners and operators of the Weirton Heights Hardware Store, until retirement. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Weirton. She was a member of the Rosary Society, Christian Mothers, Choir, and was a Eucharistic Minister of the church. She was also a member of the Polish Women’s Alliance and the PNA. She is survived by a son, John Wojdyla and his wife Ann of Beverly Hills, Michigan; two grandchildren, James and Stephen Wojdyla; and two great grandsons, Keenan and Avery Wojdyla. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton, WV where a prayer service will be held 3:30 PM Wednesday. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Thursday at Sacred Heart of Mary Church, Weirton. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.
