Rudy Gaich
February 11, 1945 ~ July 10, 2006
Rudy Gaich, 61, of Weirton, passed away Monday, July 10, 2006 at the Weirton Medical Center. Born February 11, 1945 in Steubenville, Ohio, he was the son of the late Carl and Genevieve R. Rafacz Gaich, Sr. Rudy was also preceded in death by his brother Carl, Jr. and sister Rita Gaich.
With 39 years of service, Rudy retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as a meter repairman in the Powerhouse. He was a member of the the Weirton Steel 25-Year Club. He was an avid gardener who loved cars, the outdoors, physical fitness, walking and his cats. He served in the National Guard Reserve Unit for five years.
Rudy’s survivors include his brothers Frank and his wife Barbara of Follansbee, WV, George and his wife Stephanie, Johnny and his wife Cheryl and Louis Gaich all of Weirton and Walter Gaich and his wife Linda of Dunkirk, MD and sister Carol Sellitti of Weirton.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where a Pomen Service will be conducted at 6PM. Funeral services will be conducted at 11AM Thursday in the funeral home with the Very Reverend Rade Merick presiding. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
