Russell N. Flinn
August 10, 1933 ~ March 8, 2002
Russell N. Flinn, 68, of Weirton, died Friday March 8, 2002, at the Weirton Medical Center.
He was born on August 10, 1933, in Weirton, WV, the son of the late Russell and Oleta (Gould) Flinn. His son, John Russell “Rusty” Flinn, also preceded Russell in death on February 13, 1984.
Russell retired after 27 years of service with the Weirton Steel Corporation where he worked as a millwright in the Cinder Plant.
He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Weirton Heights Church of Christ, Weirton Steel 25-year Club, and was one of the charter members of the Weirton Community Radio Watch.
Surviving include his wife, Margie Wetzel Flinn, whom he married on July 10, 1954; three sons, Richard Flinn and his wife Terri, Keith Flinn and his wife Sharon, and Kenneth Flinn, all of Weirton; one brother, Ray Flinn and his wife Judy of Wintersville, OH; one sister Louise Robb of Steubenville, OH; five grandchildren, Rickie Lee, Jessica, Christopher, Desiree & Danielle Flinn, all of Weirton.
Visitation will be from 1-3 & 7-9 PM Sunday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday with Minister Steve Smithbauer officiating.
Interment will be in Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV.
