Ruth Elizabeth Lake

Ruth Elizabeth Lake, 89, of Toronto, OH, formerly of Weirton, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the Acuity Specialty Hospital in Steubenville, OH. Born September 24, 1919 in Clarion, PA, she was the daughter of the late Augustus and Mary Jane Greenwalt Rettig. She was also preceded in death by her son James Arthur Lake and sister Laura Hughes. Mrs. Lake was a homemaker. Ruth is survived by her sons Albert Edward Lake and his wife Pam of Windsor, SC, Daniel James Lake and his wife Nancy Ann of Byesville, OH, John David Lake and his wife Marion Kay of Somerset, PA and Ernest Paul Lake and his wife Pam of Central City, PA; daughters Dorothy Coward and her husband Walt of Millville, NJ, Sandy Benning and her husband William of Garrett, PA and Ruth Lamantia and her husband Joel of Toronto, OH; 28 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday from 1-3 and 6-8 at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton where funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 PM Monday.
